Graduate Research Award (GRA)
Recognition of outstanding scientific research and technological innovation is an important activity within AVS. Through our awards program, the Society recognizes and honors a wide range of extraordinary accomplishments vital to progress in fields of interest to AVS. AVS is proud of its awards and history. We are also proud of the expanding diversity of the AVS membership and strongly desire to evaluate a diverse nomination pool that reflects the demographics of our membership. AVS strives for diversity and inclusion in awards and seeks nominations regardless of gender, race, nationality, or work environment (academia, industry, and government). A potential nominee may not seem like a traditional AVS awardee, but innovation is a hallmark of AVS. Strong nomination packages come from thinking outside the box! NOMINATE A PEER OR COLLEAGUE for a National Award. AVS awards recognize outstanding individual accomplishments and inspire excellence in fields of interest to the Society. The NEW deadline dates are: AVS Professional Awards and Fellow is March 31, 2026, and the National Student Awards: May 18, 2026. Please see the links below for the criteria and procedures.
