The Council has adopted a decision to provide a further €500 million in macro-financial assistance to Jordan. This is part of the EU's €3 billion financial and investment package announced in January 2025 to support the EU-Jordan strategic and comprehensive partnership. The EU’s assistance will help bolster Jordan’s economic stability and support its ongoing reform agenda amid mounting internal and external challenges. Unity in support of and solidarity with Denmark and Greenland. New milestone in EU-Mercosur relations.   Today the EU and Mercosur signed two landmark deals: 📌 the EU-Mercosur partnership agreement 📌 an interim trade agreement   These agreements will strengthen political dialogue and trade cooperation. Europe is facing a growing water paradox 💧. Floods and droughts are becoming more frequent —– and sometimes hitting the same region in different seasons. As the fastest-warming continent, Europe is seeing more extreme and unpredictable rainfall, widening the gap between when water is available and when it’s needed. Floods and droughts are not separate crises, but two sides of the same climate coin. The challenge is to manage them together: capturing excess water where possible and using it to reduce scarcity. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution, but integrated flood–drought management can strengthen Europe’s resilience, protect critical systems and support long-term competitiveness.
