That nasty cretin David Edenfield (the father in the family of nastiness) had evidently thought pigs started flyin’, because he actually asked his poor trapped lawyer to petition for a new trial. 

Based on the fact that the judge called him an animal in court.  This is grounds for a mistrial. 

Asshole.   How could he ever think there was a chance in h3ll  he’s walkin after what him and the rest of The Real Addams Family did to this child?

Well, that was denied. Death Penalty goin’ forward.

*Sept 2010: George Edenfield Ruled Incompetent to Stand Trial!

That cretin George Edenfield was ruled too crazy to stand trial!    Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett has found a 34-year-old convicted child molester incompetent to stand trial for the sexual abuse killing of lil Christopher Barrios, and that he  be committed to a state mental hospital.

I cant believe it!

They say he  has a diminished mental capacity and is unable to assist in his own defense.  Bullshyt!

The judge also ordered state mental health experts to issue a prognosis in 90 days about whether it’s likely Edenfield ever will be competent for trial.  

“He’s smart as a darn whip.   He’s got them all fooled.   He’s just putting on a good show,” Christopher’s grandmother, Sue Rodriguez, said after the hearing.  

The one bright spot in the hearing was when prosecutors told her George Edenfield would never be free from jail.   “It’s a little comforting to know he won’t be out,” she said

Prosecutors previously conceded that Edenfield has a diminished mental capacity, but they had insisted he was competent to stand trial.  That asshole of a daddy of his,  David Edenfield  has the balls to ask for a new trial on grounds that a prosecutor inflamed the jury by calling him an animal.

Thats just what the fluck he is! 

 

 

*George Edenfield to  Undergo Psych Eval

BRUNSWICK – APRIL 6 2010- George Edenfield might be inching closer to standing trial on murder and other charges in the sexual abuse slaying of his 6-year-old neighbor, Christopher Michael Barrios Jr., nearly three years ago.

Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett was assured Wednesday by prosecutors and Edenfield’s defense team that they are nearing agreement on how and when psychologists will evaluate him to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial.

If the 34-year-old convicted child molester is mentally retarded, he could not receive the death penalty if convicted of this horrible crime!

District Attorney Stephen Kelley, however, maintained that George Edenfield knows right from wrong, and understood what he was doing when Christopher was abducted, molested and strangled.

George Edenfield’s lawyers assert he is both incompetent and mentally retarded.   If the state and defense psychologists agree Edenfield is incompetent, he will not be tried unless and until he becomes competent, according to the law.

Peggy Edenfield, 58, will be last to face trial.   She has asserted that her son knew right from wrong.  She, however, will not face the death penalty because she testified against her husband and has agreed to testify against her son.

BRUNSWICK, Ga./Dec. 2, 2009 — David Edenfield’s lawyer filed three motions, including one for a new trial. (Based the fluck on what?)    

According to James Yancey, he also filed a motion for a stay of execution and a motion that asks for Edenfield to be allowed to stay in the Glynn County Jail while the appeals take place.    

This monster is full of shyt!!  And I hope he knows his ass ain’t gettin’ no new trial!

*  The Next One To Pay…      

   

BRUNSWICK/ NOv 5, 2009   — With his father convicted and condemned the next day, George Edenfield  will be the next cretin  to stand trial in the sexual abuse slaying of 6-year-old neighbor Christopher Michael Barrios Jr., which was more than 2.5 years ago.     

George Edenfield will be confronted with much of the same evidence used (successfully!) against his father, and he’ll face the same possible penalty:  Death.     

No date has been set for the next legal round.     

But his limited mental capacity may ultimately prevent this sorry mofo from ever gettin’ the death penalty.     

In a recorded confession, David Edenfield said he and his sorry-ass son sodomized then choked the this lil boy to death on March 8, 2007. George Edenfield brought the boy into their home under the pretext of playing video games, his mother, Peggy Edenfield (this bitch sat there and watched, diggin in her dried up ancient cooch), testified against her husband at his trial, tryin’ to save her own miserable life.  It sho’ aint no honor amongst thieves, is it…?     

Both said their son is developmentally disabled but also said he knows right from wrong.     

With David Edenfield’s conviction and sentencing, Christopher’s father, Mike Barrios, said he was able to smile after crying so hard and so much over his son’s death that “my eyes were sore from wiping them.”     

The family is steeling themselves for the next round of trials.  They’re also bracing themselves for the likelihood that even if this monster is convicted, George Edenfield could escape the death penalty, Christopher’s grandmother, Sue Rodriguez, said.     

“I’d like to see him get the death penalty. That’s what he deserves. But in a way, I don’t think that he will because they say he is mentally retarded.”     

During the trial, it was acknowledged that George has the mind of a 5-year-old.     But in her testimony, Peggy Edenfield  said her son knows right from wrong, and David Edenfield said the same in his recorded confession.

*LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST SOAPnet FOR USE OF CHRISTOPHER’S PHOTO!       

   

 Oct. 15, 2009/BRUNSWICK, Ga.  — The father and grandmother of slain 6-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios Jr. think his photograph was used as prop on a cable television soap opera as the result of a “sick, demented and cruel” prank by an as yet unknown person, and have filed separate lbut nearly identical lawsuits accusing SOAPnet of invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
Each is seeking up to $75,000 in damages from the network, according to the lawsuits filed in Glynn County State Court on Oct. 8 — two days after a jury authorized the death penalty for David Edenfield, the first of three former neighbors charged with sexually assaulting and strangling the Brunswick boy.  I would have asked for MILLIONS more…     

More than money, Christopher’s father and grandmother want answers. “They have given me permission to dismiss the lawsuits if we find out this was an innocent mistake,” Gelman said.
Now all this took placce in Oct 2008.  Why is anybody trippin off it now?  Although the network has apologized and said it was a mistake, it has never been  explained how the photograph ended up in an episode of “General Hospital: Night Shift” broadcast nationwide. (they also did some psa’s.)     

The Apology:     

“While the production team would never have knowingly chosen this particular photo, its use was a terrible error. We offer our deepest condolences to the Barrios family for their loss and our sincerest apologies for any pain caused by our mistake. In the coming weeks, SOAPnet will air a series of public service announcements in Christopher’s honor, to raise awareness of missing and exploited children. Meanwhile, the episode is being edited to permanently remove the photo, and we have taken steps, including reviewing internal processes to determine how it happened in hopes of preventing this type of mistake from occurring again.”     

Not enough.  They need to find out exactly HOW this mistake was made, and who made it.  Under the circumstances, and surely at the time this happened, this apolgoy just wouldnt have been near enuff.     

I guess when you look at it someone really did fluck up.  It would have been “virtually impossible” to find a photograph of Christopher, in the news or on the Internet that was not accompanied by information about his disappearance and horrible murder.  Suspicion is that Christopher’s photo was picked because of what happened to him.  Shock effect.     

I hope no one thought this was cute or funny…if they did, its about to cost them.

*PERVERTED CRETIN CONVICTED & SENTENCED TO DEATH!!!!       

      

                                                   OCT 7, 2009/BRUNSWICK, GA.–      God is so ABSOLUTELY good!  Yesterday, a jury convicted David Endefield!!!    Jurors deliberated only two hours before unanimously agreeing on a death sentence for 61-year-old David Edenfield. He was convicted Monday of aggravated child molestation and murder in the March 2007 slaying of Christopher Michael Barrios.     

 Edenfield stood passively as the judge read his sentence, and the victim’s family silently dabbed at tears.     

Christopher’s mother Latrina Keith hugged Stephen Kelley, Glynn County district attorney, outside the courthouse Tuesday evening.     

Keith, who rarely speaks to the media, said she finally feels some relief. “(The jury) gave (Edenfield) the death sentence and that is what he deserved, but it can’t bring my baby back,” she said.     

“We got him. He’s got his deadline,” said Michael Barrios, Christopher’s father referring to Edenfield’s death sentence recommendation.      

Barrios stayed in court to watch Edenfield receive the death sentence recommendation. Edenfield was still and did not react when the sentence was handed down.  Barrios describes Edenfield as a “monster.” He plans to watch Edenfield’s execution if it happens. (WHEN it happens!)     

At one point, the judge halted the prosecutor’s heated presentation when Kelley pointed at Edenfield and called him an “animal.” Edenfield’s attorneys asked for a mistrial based on the outburst, but Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett denied the motion. DAMM RIGHT!!!     

Edenfield was the first of three family members to stand trial in the case. His wife and their 34-year-son have also been charged with abducting, molesting and killing the boy.

Sept 30, 2009/BRUNSWICK, GA — The jury in the trial of David Edenfield wrapped up its first day of testimony today with a description of the 61-year-old defendant’s interrogation following the disappearance of 6-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios, Jr.     

The Barrios’ neighbors David Edenfield, 61, his wife, Peggy, and their son George are charged in the 2007 death of the first-grader; they are being tried separately. Christopher Barrios had been playing in the yard of the mobile home park where he lived. That evening, his grandmother Sue Rodriguez was unable to find him.     

Michael Barrios, Christopher’s father, was the first to testify today. He said he saw the Star Wars toy his son had been playing with abandoned in the Edenfields’ yard next door to the Barrios’ mobile home. That tipped off police to question the family.     

Edenfield admitted seeing his son George sexually molest Christopher. Sorrow said Edenfield also told him he helped his son choke Christopher.  “I asked him if the devil had told him to do anything, or hurt the missing child, Christopher, and he told me ‘yes,’ that the devil told him to kill him,” Sarro testified. (sounds like he gettin that insanity plea set up…)     

Special Assistant District Attorney John Johnson described for the jury the events leading up to Christopher’s death in the Edenfields’ mobile home.     

“Christopher Barrios did not want to be there. He told them to let him go. He said ‘I want to leave. Let me go. Don’t do this. I’m going to tell my parents,'” Johnson said.     

(**other reports state he begged for his freedom, and then his lil life!**)     

Defense attorney James Yancey, Jr. countered that the case is about the facts. Yancey did not talk about the evidence specifically, but said the prosecution cannot connect Edenfield to the murder.     

“The most important part of this case is that the case will remove the death penalty against Peggy Edenfield and will also remove life without parole as a possibility of sentencing against Peggy Edenfield,” Yancey said, referring to a deal she made with prosecutors in exchange for testifying against her husband.  (**Im not feelin that- this biatch deserves to die right along with perverted husband and son for what they did to this baby….so what does that leave?  life with the possibility of parole!  no way does she deserve to see the streets again, I dont care if she is 100 when she does!**)     

The trial, attended by a small crowd today, is expected to last three to five days at the Glynn County courthouse. The defense and prosecution are expected to call several dozen witnesses.     

Peggy Edenfield, 58, will be tried last per a deal with the prosecution to testify against her husband. George Edenfield’s (the lil nasty son…) trial is pending a determination of his mental fitness for trial. (**yea right!**)

Sept 3 2009/BRUNSWICK,GA–     The monster charged with killing this angel was in court today.     

David Edenfield showed up for his pre-trial hearing for his upcoming case in the death of 6-year-old Christopher Barrios.  At issue in this hearing were statements made by Edenfield to police regarding the abduction, molestation and strangulation of Barrios in March, 2007.  Edenfield’s attorneys, John Beall, IV, and James Yancey, Jr., argued that the statements were coerced by police and shouldn’t be allowed.   Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett ruled today that the statements are admissible in court for the jury to hear. (Dayumm Right!!)     

Edenfield’s attorneys lost another pre-trial challenge as well. Judge Scarlett ruled the jury will be picked from residents of Jeff Davis County, which is in southeast Georgia. The attorneys argued the jury pool will be tainted if it’s drawn from near Brunswick.     

Jury selection is expected to begin September 21.     

Edenfield, who is being charged along with his wife and son, faces the death penalty.
