Throwdown: Chapter 12

<<

I was in the middle of the sexiest dream I’d had in a while. Lately when I dreamt it was of Debbie chasing me with a bloody knife while I held my pregnant belly and tried not to trip over furniture or mysterious tree roots that found their way into my house. This dream was nothing like that. I could feel the warmth of sunlight on my face and the gentle lapping of Eric’s tongue against my clit. I felt his fingers curling inside me, coaxing an orgasm from me that made my body shake with desire.

It felt so real and when my hand moved down in my dream to run my fingers through his hair, I swore I felt the silky strands of his hair in my hand. His groans and growls sounded like they always did and then all of a sudden I was awake. My eyes popped open and I realized I wasn’t dreaming. Eric was really going down on me in the middle of the night and I was about to come hard for him.

“You’re back,” I panted as my hips moved of their own accord.

“Mmhmm,” he hummed, and sucked on my clit.

I groaned and my back arched. The pressure exploded and my walls clamped down around his fingers. Eric wasn’t supposed to be back until tomorrow afternoon. He had surprised me in the best way possible.

I had missed him terribly while he was gone and I was glad to have him back. Thanks to a referral from Dr. Brigant, I’d met with a psychiatrist that specialized in working with people that had post traumatic stress. I hoped that a few appointments of talking things out would help me get my head on straight so I wouldn’t be afraid to be in my own house. Just to make myself feel better, I called a locksmith to set up an appointment to have the locks changed and I was having an alarm company come out and wire the house. I had never really given much thought to home security before because Bon Temps wasn’t the sort of place where psychos broke into people’s homes and tried to murder them in their living room.

Of course I had to be the exception to that.

So for the next few weeks, at least, I would be meeting with Dr. Garza to talk about what happened to me. If need be, she could put me on medication but I really hoped that it wouldn’t come to that. As it was, I was weaning myself off the pain medication because I was worried about the kinds of side effects it could have on the baby. My poor child had already been through so much and he or she wasn’t even born yet.

Eric wasn’t finished with me yet and made me come for him again before he would let me push his head away. My heart felt like it was going to beat its way right out of my chest.

“Are you trying to kill me?” I asked as I sucked in air.

“Quite the opposite,” he grinned. “I’m trying to make you feel alive.”

“It’s working.” I smiled down at him. “No wonder you didn’t answer when I called you before I went to bed. I just assumed you were busy at work.”

“I was definitely on a plane, and I definitely had to hide a boner.”

“You poor baby,” I pouted at him.

“I think you can help me out there though,” he said, and sat up on his knees.

“I think you’re right.” I watched him stroke himself and I lifted my hips off the bed.

“Mind if I get right down to business?” he asked as he scooted forward.

“Nope. I’ve been wanting this for days,” I told him.

“Me too,” he said, and pulled my thighs up so they were resting over his. He didn’t even bother teasing me, he just lined himself up and sunk deep inside me with a low groan.

“Mmm… God, you’re so big, baby,” I moaned and closed my eyes.

“And you’re so wet,” he grinned as he started to pump his hips.

“You did that,” I told him, and started to play with my nipples.

“I did. And I enjoyed doing that. I want to do that again later.”

“I want to let you,” I moaned. “Go faster, Eric.”

He moved faster and held my hips gently. He was careful not to get too rough with me, and when his thumb started to rub my clit in slow circles, it made my pussy flutter.

“Fu… Eric, I’m so close,” I panted as the pressure in my belly built. “Make me come for you, baby.”

“Do it, Sookie,” he demanded. “Fucking come and make that tight pussy take me with you.”

I loved it when he talked dirty to me and that moment was no exception. His thumb moved faster. My eyes squeezed shut and my walls clamped down around his shaft as my orgasm ripped through me.

“Oh my God, Eric!” I cried out.

“Fuck,” he grunted, and started to thrust even faster before pounding into me hard and losing it with his own release.

“Mmm… that was soooo good,” I purred, and rolled my hips. I needed that. Badly.

“Shit,” he groaned, and stilled my hips. “Give me like ten minutes and we can go again.”

“It’s a good thing I got some sleep,” I giggled. “How was your flight?”

“Awful,” he said, and pulled out so he could roll to the side.

“Uh oh. I wouldn’t think a late flight would be that bad.” I rolled onto my side to face him.

“There were very talkative people, and I just wanted to sleep,” he said.

“Well if you’re tired we can just go to sleep,” I told him. It wasn’t unusual for Eric to have an orgasm and then pass out for an hour.

“We have time to make up for. And you’re extra horny.”

“Yeah, but I’ll still be horny tomorrow. If you’re tired we’ll just go to sleep.”

“I want to stay awake,” he said, but he said it with a yawn.

“Babe, it’s okay.” I scooted closer to him so I could rest my head on his chest. “You can fuck my brains out in the morning.”

“Is that a promise?” he asked. His eyes were already starting to close.

“Guaranteed.” I kissed his chest. “Get some sleep so you can make me scream for you.”

“That’s definitely a promise,” he said, and a moment later he was out cold.

Predictable.

I got up to clean myself up and when I got back in bed, I snuggled up against him and fell asleep in no time. I slept better that night than I had in a while. It felt like my life was getting back on track and I was ridiculously happy in that moment.

The next morning I woke Eric with a blowjob and by the time he was finished repaying me for the favor I could hardly move. We had to take a break so I could feed Junior.

“You know what I’ve been dying to hear you say?” Eric asked when we went into the kitchen.

“I haven’t the foggiest,” I said as I headed for the fridge to get myself a large glass of orange pineapple juice. I was addicted to the stuff.

“There’s these magical, wonderful words you said to me over the phone a few times,” he said. “I’ve been looking forward to seeing you say them in person.”

“I miss your cock?” I tried.

“No,” he shook his head.

“Hmm… Ummm… Yes, I’ll marry you?”

“Really?!” his eyes lit up.

Shit.

“Eric, I was just guessing,” I said. “But I might have a change of heart if you asked me again.”

“Does that mean if I ask you right now you’d say yes?”

“It might. You’d have to ask me to find out,” I told him.

Eric smiled and then got down on both knees. He picked up my hands and grinned up at me.

“I love you,” I said. I knew that was what he wanted to hear.

“I love you, too,” he said, and slowly got back on his feet.

“You’re not going to ask me?” I was surprised.

“Who said that?” he asked. “I just didn’t want to ask from the floor. Kinda hurt my knees.”

“Oh,” I smiled.

“Sookie,” he smiled. “I don’t have a ring yet, and I can’t say I know every detail about you, but how would you feel about spending the next eighty years with me finding all those things out?”

“Eighty years? That’s an awfully long time,” I said like I was hesitant. Then I smiled and said, “Sounds like a great start.”

“So you’ll marry me?”

“Yes, Eric, I’ll marry you,” I told him.

His smile got impossibly wider, and then he kissed me hard. I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his waist. It wasn’t the two week, whirlwind romance sort of proposal he’d wanted, but it was close enough. Being away from him had shown me that I belonged with him. Whether we stayed here or moved to New York, I just wanted to be with him. Not since Gran had someone taken such good care of me, or been so invested in my happiness.

Plus he was sexy as hell.

“I love you,” I said again for him.

“I’ll never get tired of hearing that,” he smiled. “I swear I’ll get you a ring when I go back to New York.”

“No rush,” I told him. “Just promise me no tacky yellow gold.”

“Absolutely not. But I’m getting you something unique.”

“Unique is good,” I nodded.

“Vegas or do you want a big thing?”

I’d always thought I would want something big, but that didn’t seem right for Eric and me. In a lot of ways, everything about our relationship had been about impulse, and so far that had worked well for us. Why monkey with that?

“Vegas,” I said.

His eyes lit up again, and he started pulling on my hand.

“Come on, let’s go pack.”

“Right now?” I followed behind him.

“Why not? Neither of us have anything to do right now, and I really want to be your husband.”

“Okay, but I have a locksmith and an alarm company coming to make this place like Fort Knox, plus I’m still hungry and your baby needs food,” I told him.

“When are the locksmith and the alarm company coming?” he asked, stopping suddenly.

“Today. I called them after I got back from my appointment with Dr. Garza,” I said. “And I need to get a dress, and we need witnesses…”

“How doable would it be to fly your best friend Tara to Vegas for a night?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I can call her and see if she and JB can get away for the night.”

“Then today we’ll deal with the locksmith and the security people. Tomorrow we’ll get you a dress. And the next day we will fly to Vegas and get married. Hopefully your friends can come along. I’ll pay for it all.”

What surprised me wasn’t Eric’s enthusiasm but the fact that I wasn’t freaking out. His suggestions felt like the right thing to do so I said, “Okay. Then I’ll go call Tara.”

“Great, I’ll work on the feeding Junior part,” he said, and kissed me before going back to the kitchen.

I continued on to the bedroom to get my phone. I sat on the bed and dialed Tara’s number. Hopefully she wouldn’t be up to her elbows in twin craziness.

“Hello love!” she answered cheerfully.

“Hi. You’re awfully happy today,” I said. It wasn’t usual for me to call Tara and have her be in such a good mood over the last couple of months.

“I finally got laid,” she said.

I laughed and said, “Well that explains it. Good for you!”

“Thank you very much. And how are you? Is your man back yet?”

“He is. He flew in late last night to surprise me in a dirty kind of way,” I told her and then casually added, “And I’m engaged.”

“What?!” she screeched.

“Eric asked again and I said yes. What are you doing the day after tomorrow?”

“Cleaning up puke?” she said. “Why?”

“Can you get a sitter to do that for you for a night? Eric and I want you and JB to be witnesses at our wedding… in Vegas,” I told her and held the phone away from my ear in case she screamed.

“Oh my god! Yes! Sookie! Of course!” she screamed like I thought. “JB! Get your sexy butt in here!”

I laughed and waited for her and JB to have a quick discussion. If nothing else, they could probably use a night away from their kids. Robbie and Sara were cute, but they were a lot of work and Tara hadn’t had much of a break since they moved to Texas.

“Tara! Tara!” I called out when the conversation turned to finances. “It’s on us. You don’t have to pay for anything.”

“Sookie no! I couldn’t ask you to do that.”

“You’re not asking. It was Eric’s idea. All you have to do is say yes and we will take care of the flights and hotel reservations,” I told her.

“Wow. I… Okay! But one question.”

“Shoot,” I said.

“Do you think we could swing staying two nights? JB’s mom is in town and is willing to watch the kids.”

“I’m pretty sure we could do two nights,” I tell her. “We don’t have anywhere we have to be. I’m still on leave from work and Eric is a free agent since he promoted one of the managers from one of the restaurants. I’m so happy you can come! I wouldn’t ask anyone else to be my maid of honor, you know.”

I was crying because everything made me cry.

“I know, and I wouldn’t have asked anyone else either,” she said. “I’m so happy I’m going to get to see it, Sookie.”

“Me too. Plus I get to see you! It’s been forever,” I sighed. It had really only been since Christmas, but that was long enough.

“You’re not kidding,” she sighed. “I have to go feed the offspring now, but I’ll call you tomorrow for details, okay?”

“Okay. I’ll send an email with the confirmation for your flights and the hotel. I’ll try to get us in the area at the same time. Do you have a time preference for your flight?”

“The early afternoon would probably be best,” she said.

“I’ll see what I can do. I’ll talk to you soon. Love you.”

“I love you too!” she said. “Bye!”

“Bye, sweetie,” I said, and hung up.

It was crazy and impulsive and maybe in ten years I would kick myself for it, but I was happy. It felt right and I was going with it. I got out my laptop and started looking at flight options and hotel possibilities. I had some planning to do.

♥  ♥  ♥

Around the time I got Sookie sat down to eat her lunch the security guy came. I dealt with him and then sat down to eat too while he started installing things. Sookie had her laptop open and was looking at flights and hotels. I could hardly believe she’d agreed to marry me, let alone doing it in Vegas. No way was I going to complain though. I was happy.

“Make sure you use my credit card when you book,” I told her.

“I will. Just let me know where it is. Tara said she’d rather fly out in the afternoon annnd… ah ha! There’s a flight leaving Dallas at three. Perfect!” she said with excitement and clicked on the link to buy tickets.

I got up and jogged back to the room to get my wallet, then brought it back to her.

“Here you go,” I said. “Use it wisely.”

“So no superfluous tickets to Thailand?” she snickered and started typing information.

“No ma’am, at least not yet,” I said. “But make sure the hotel has a nice spa so you and Tara can get pampered before the wedding.”

“I was thinking the Bellagio,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to see the fountain and light show they do. It’s cheesy but it looks really cool.”

“It is,” I confirmed. “And they have a good spa there.”

“Good, then that’s where I’ll book,” Sookie smiled.

“Hey,” I said, smiling over at her. When she looked up at me I said, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“You’re going to be my wife.”

“Yep. You sure you want to be stuck with me?” she asked.

“Abso-fucking-lutely.”

“Good.”

I leaned over and gave her a kiss, and then went back to my breakfast.

Sookie booked the flights and hotel, and if the flights remained on time then we’d be arriving within ten minutes of Tara and JB. We spent the rest of the day keeping ourselves from fucking while the men were at the house working, and as soon as they left we were all over each other. By the time we passed out for the night I was sure I didn’t have any bodily fluids left.

The next day Sookie went shopping for a dress, and I bought myself a suit since I didn’t have any of mine with me. She wouldn’t allow me to see what dress she’d bought, but that was okay. When we got to Vegas I was going to find the nearest Tiffany’s and get us wedding rings. I wanted to get her engagement ring in New York though. There was a jewelry shop there that I knew would have the perfect ring for her. Even if it came backwards I knew she’d love it.

Finally, the day to fly to Vegas came, and I was happy that I wasn’t nervous at all. I was marrying the girl of my dreams, and I loved her with all my heart. We locked the house up and I drove us to the airport. We didn’t have much in the way of clothes since we didn’t plan to wear much most of the time, so we didn’t have to check anything. The flight itself was good, and I’d told Sookie to book us and Tara and JB in first class. I knew she’d appreciate not being so cramped. Still, she slept on my arm the whole way there.

As soon as we arrived we checked the boards to see about Tara and JB’s flight and found that it had arrived five minutes before us. Sookie pulled out her phone to call them and they told her they were by the baggage claim. I was a little nervous about meeting Sookie’s best friend for the first time this way, but I figured that if she agreed to be a witness to the wedding then she had to already approve of me.

Right as they saw each other they squealed like little girls and ran towards one another. I chuckled and picked up the bag Sookie dropped before heading over. A man I was assuming was JB was standing next to the girls with an amused look on his face, and I held my hand out to him.

“Hi, I’m Eric,” I said.

“Yeah, I know. Nice to meet you. I’m Tara’s husband, JB,” he said with a friendly smile. “They’ll quit squealin’ in an hour or four.”

“Seems like it,” I chuckled. “How was your flight?”

“I didn’t have a toddler trying to kick me in the nuts, so it was fantastic,” he said.

“I’ll bet,” I smiled, and the girls finally pulled apart.

“So you’re the man who knocked up my best friend,” Tara said with a smile.

“That is a truthfact,” I nodded.

“Tara, this is my baby daddy, Eric. Eric this is my best friend in the whole world, Tara,” Sookie introduced us. “And I’m guessing you already met this handsome devil.”

“Yes he did,” JB said, and gave Sookie a hug.

“It’s very nice to finally meet you, Tara,” I said, and offered her my hand, but she smirked and gave me a big hug instead.

“You better be the best thing that’s ever happened to my girl,” she said.

“I hope I am.”

“Come on, let’s get the hell outta here. Mama needs a snack,” Sookie said.

“Girl, you have no idea. I forgot what it’s like to eat,” Tara sighed.

“Then lets go find a buffet and eat all sorts of things that are awful for us but taste delicious.” Sookie looped her arm through Tara’s and the two of them led the way.

“We’ll mostly be holding purses,” JB informed me.

“I’m getting the feeling that the words pack mule will describe us perfectly.”

“I heard that!” Sookie said without looking back at us.

“I love you, honey!” I called out to her.

Sookie responded with a little extra sway in her hips for me as she walked toward the exit.

When we got there the girls were surprised by a limo driver holding a sign that said, ‘Northman-DuRone.’

“When did you do this?” Sookie asked with a big smile on her face. “I would have been happy with a cab.”

“Hush, Sook,” JB said, and got in the car.

“Yeah, shut it, Sook,” Tara said, and gleefully followed her husband.

“What your friends said,” I grinned.

“Hey, I wasn’t complaining,” she said, and pulled me down to give me one hell of a kiss.

“I love you too,” I said, and then nodded for her to climb in first. The driver took the rest of the bags from me, and then I followed. “I hope no one minds this.”

Tara and JB were already going through the little mini-bar with happy smiles.

“Heck no,” JB said.

Sookie pulled me closer and whispered in my ear, “You’re going to get super laid for this.”

“Then it was the best decision I could have made,” I said, and gave her a kiss.

“Ugh, save it for the honeymoon,” Tara laughed.

“Sorry, sweetie. I’m in that phase,” Sookie told Tara.

“Ahh, carry on,” Tara grinned.

“I hope you guys don’t mind if we make a quick stop at Tiffany’s before the hotel,” I said. “Sookie and I have some wedding bands to buy.”

“Eric we can take them to the hotel first. We might as well get checked in. Besides, I really, really need to eat something,” she said. We hadn’t eaten since breakfast.

“Unless the groom is buying every girl pretty pretty diamonds, we best go to the hotel,” Tara said.

“Okay, then we’ll get the bands on the way to the chapel,” I said, and intercommed the driver to let him know the change of plans.

“Thank you,” Sookie whispered.

I wrapped an arm around her and kissed her temple.

“Are you still sure you want to marry me?” I asked.

“Pretty sure,” she winked.

“Me too.”

About twenty minutes later we got to the hotel and the girls went right for the bathroom while JB and I went to check us in. Our rooms were on the same floor, but not next to each other, which I was really thankful for. Sookie and I got a suite, and she booked a nice room with a hot tub for JB and Tara.

Once the girls came back we all went up to our rooms to deposit our things, and then headed back down to the restaurant to eat. Tara was a hoot, and JB was a really nice guy. I could see why Sookie and Tara had been best friends for so long. It was really great to see Sookie smile and laugh so much.

Because of the time change, it was only four in the evening by the time we all finished eating. The girls headed off for the spa, and JB and I went to gamble a little. I wasn’t much of a gambler, so I gave myself a hundred dollars to spend, and once it was gone it was gone.

I lost it all in ten minutes.

JB on the other hand… after an hour he had turned his hundred dollars into almost a grand. I was in awe because Sookie always made it sound like he wasn’t too bright.

“What are you going to do with all that money?” I asked him as we left the casino.

“Well, a smart man would give it to his wife… but I ain’t that smart,” he said with a grin.

“She’d probably be happier if you spent it on her.”

“Yeah, probably,” he agreed.

“We are going to buy jewelry later,” I said.

“Yes we are,” he agreed again. He held up the money and said, “It was nice knowing you.”

“You did well though,” I smiled. “What do you say we go to the bar and get a couple beers until the girls call us?”

“Sounds like a plan. I could use one… or five.”

“Oh no, I’m not getting drunk on my wedding night. I have to be able to perform.”

“That never got in my way. Got twins to prove it,” he snickered.

“I have a head start on that one,” I laughed.

“No shit, y’all are havin’ twins, too?”

“No,” I shook my head. There was the dumb part of him, I guessed. “I just meant that since she’s already knocked up, I don’t run the risk of doing it again.”

“Oh, right. It’d be kinda neat if you did though,” he said. He was serious.

He made Jason look like a Nobel Prize winner by comparison.

“Sure,” I said, and we headed into the bar.

An hour later we got a call from the girls that they were up in mine and Sookie’s room getting ready. She said my suit was in JB and Tara’s room so I could get dressed in there. I pulled JB away from his third beer and we headed upstairs to get ready. I took a shower before suiting up, and when I looked at the final product in the mirror I couldn’t stop smiling.

I was about to get married.

  1. That was fun. Poor JB. I’m waiting to see if his comments are prophetic. It’s possible the ultrasound could have missed something, especially since she’s already showing.

  2. “He made Jason look like a Nobel Prize winner by comparison.” Poor JB! Wonder if anyone will ever write a fic where he gets to be a little smarter? And the quote is too, too funny!

  3. Yay! They’re getting married. I think Vegas is so them. So glad that Tara is able to be a part of it. Great chapter!
