About VoxEU

VoxEU – CEPR’s policy portal – was set up in June 2007 to promote "research-based policy analysis and commentary by leading economists". VoxEU's audience consists of economists working in the public sector, private sector, academia and media – as well as students of economics in the broad sense. VoxEU columns cover all fields of economics broadly defined and are widely read.

Most VoxEU columns are commissioned directly by the Editor-in-Chief, but VoxEU does post a few unsolicited columns.

  • Leading economists who are interested in writing a “research-based policy analysis and commentary” should send a few lines describing the possible column and its research basis to: s[email protected].
  • The submission should include information on the author(s)’ current and past affiliation(s), economics degrees or experience, and the URL of the author(s)’ current webpage.

The editors reserves the right to not respond to submissions that it considers frivolous. The members of the Board are:

    • Up to three VoxEU.org contributions per month may be reproduced in full by any one website or printed publication with prior consent, subject to proper attributions: specifically, “VoxEU” must be mentioned 'above the fold' as the source and a link to the original on cepr.org must be provided (for web pages). Further, columns may only be reproduced at least 24 hours after they first appeared on VoxEU.
    • It is the responsibility of the users of VoxEU content to make it clear to their readers that the material came from VoxEU. 
    • VoxEU reserves the right to withdraw permission to reproduce, with no notice, at any time.

VoxEU has set up a Consortium of sites with which it cooperates. The original members were LaVoce  (www.LaVoce.info), which provided inspiration for the idea and help from the start, and the French site Telos (www.telos-eu.com).

Subsequent members include: the Japanese site by The Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), the Dutch site Me Judice (www.mejudice.nl); the Spanish site Nada es Gratis (www.fedeablogs.net/economia/); the Latin American site Vox LACEA (Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (http://vox.lacea.org/), the Japanese site Hi-Stat Vox, which was set up by the Japanese Global COE Program "Research Unit for Statistical Analysis in the Social Sciences"; the Swiss site (in German) Oekonomenstimme (http://www.oekonomenstimme.org/english/).
