In Sierra Leone, around two-thirds of the population are not connected to the power grid. This interrupts people at work, rest and play; stops children from doing their schoolwork; and forces people to rely on diesel, torches, and kerosene lamps to light their households. Easy Solar has come up with an affordable and reliable solution, explains co-founder @Nthabiseng Mosia. Customers buy a basic #solar kit with a down payment, paying off the rest in interest-free instalments. With that, they gain access to emissions-free electricity generated by something Sierra Leone has in abundance: sunshine. Easy Solar is a Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship Awardee. The Schwab Foundation is a global community of pioneering social innovators driving systemic change. Modern #logistics today is a competitive advantage, and the #infrastructure must be treated as a strategic priority, finds DP World’s Global Trade Observatory Annual Outlook Report 2026. Moreover, the results of the survey of more than the 3,500 senior #supply chain and logistics executives are strikingly positive, even against a backdrop of shifting trade policies, geopolitics and route disruption. Taken together, the findings show how logistics is viewed today: no longer just a support function, but a strategic enabler of growth, powered by technology and increasingly central to competitive performance. Creative destruction is evolving. Today, growth is driven less by isolated #innovations and more by the #convergence of multiple technologies across systems and sectors. What does this mean for long-term growth? Using the World Economic Forum’s Technology Convergence maturity index, this article explores how leaders can spot emerging capabilities, anticipate market shifts and scale convergence responsibly. #AI is here to stay, so organizations must fully transform workforce, operating models and governance in order to capture maximum value from it. Clearly differentiating between human and machine roles is vital when redesigning the #workforce, with continuous learning for the former. Meanwhile, responsible deployment of AI, correcting historic under-representation, will determine how far the technology can be scaled. Only 100 of the world’s 7,000+ languages are meaningfully represented in today’s #AI systems, while one-third of humanity remains offline. This gap is reflected in how AI is being funded: global investment surpassed $1.5 trillion, yet less than 1% goes toward social impact. The issue not a lack of innovation, but a lack of alignment. At #WEF26, leaders are asking how the ethical and inclusive deployment of AI can #translate technological acceleration into solutions for real-world challenges. Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs of the UAE, and Badr Jafar, UAE Special Envoy for Business & Philanthropy and CEO of Crescent Enterprises, consider how aligning government, business and philanthropy with inclusive AI can catalyze transformative growth. #WEF26 https://lnkd.in/e4py2mRZ

#Quantum computing promises faster problem-solving and dramatically lower energy use for complex tasks. Alexander Glätzle, CEO and Co-Founder of planqc explains how the rise of #AI begs the question of how to scale #computing without expanding energy. Quantum computing can offer a solution. The potential depends on both algorithms and hardware choices – platforms that minimize #energy waste could make scalable, sustainable computing a reality. This is crucial as AI and digital workloads continue to grow. #wef26 https://lnkd.in/eyJjVykM
