Chiarina Loggia is a multi-award winning visual artist who is presently residing in BC, Canada, after having spent many years living abroad, mostly in Asia. Her inspiration comes from the relationships and experiences in her life. Meditations on love, loss, passion and compassion abound in Chiarina’s work. Places she has lived, especially Japan, have left their indelible mark and developed her aesthetic sensibilities.
This blog documents her creative journey and the reader is encouraged to follow along and be a part of the ride.
“My art is primarily about communication. One of the great joys of making art is making connections with other people through it, often by finding meaning in the work that is both unintended and yet surprisingly insightful. When creating art my ultimate goal is to produce works that I hope will resonate deeply with the viewer and elicit an emotional response which will encourage reflection and open dialogue and understanding between people.
I am continually attempting to push boundaries in my art, delving into subjects and ideas that take me out of my comfort zone. Self portraits are the most personal, challenging and intimidating artworks I feel I can do. Through these and other figurative studies I strive to express something universal in the personal.
A heartfelt thank you to all who find their way here. You are welcome to stay for a chat and share thoughts and ideas over a cup of tea.”

I love your message and intent and content. Communication, love, peace, and life. I say yes! I will come back and visit again. I am a master photographer and make a living creating images of nature, the sea, and families that evoke emotion. However in my blog livingwithloveandpeace I have decided to let my words create the emotional response. This is new for me as I am an artist at heart but I am really enjoying sharing love, and positive thinking with people around the world. I believe we can all make a contribution and make the world a better place.
With Aloha, Douglas

Dear Karzan, Thank you so much for the award nomination and the appreciation of my blog. Unfortunately I cannot comply with all the rules for acceptance of the award, for I don’t wish to burden other bloggers with these rules to follow as it may put them off. I would be happy to write a post mentioning your blog and award offer and answering your questions if you like. Cheers and thanks.

Hello Chiarina,
I like what I see. But I’m a little in a hurry right now… (I always find interting places on the net when I’m out of time… a sort of karma maybe…) but I promise I will return here because I like what I saw. And as your blog dates back to 2009, I will bring a cup of coffee with me to go up to 2013. (Oh… and my english might sometimes be a little out of structure because I’m a french canadian… but I do my best! Bye!

Pas de probleme. Je viens de Montreal et je parle Francais, mais je ne l’ecrive pas bien. Merci de votre visite, a bientot!

So, coffee it will be, ok?
I’ll return in a day or two to take a better look to your art 🙂
I like your mix of photos with other textures. Bye!

Coffee is fine, lol. I drink both, though tea is what I prefer, unless I’m in Europe. Then it’s cafe au lait or caffe latte all the way!

Thank you for calling by on my blog – let me know what you think of The Summer Ghost. I’m really enjoying your site, particularly your prints and artwork. Did you train as an artist (Art School etc)? I’m guessing that it is something that you have discovered and developed yourself – there’s a freshness and originality to them that can so easily get lost with formal training. I look forward to more!
November 11, 2013 at 11:44 am
I studied painting and printmaking with various teachers but no degree in art education. Just a lot of self study and practice, finding my own way. There are definite pros and cons to art schools, and not all are the same, but I agree that an artist must find his own way and sometimes too much education can get in the way. Thank you for your appreciation of my “way”.

Hello there. You sound very interesting. I really enjoyed your ‘About’ page and description of yourself and your art. I also am a world traveler and have lived in Asia. I currently live in Brazil, but am originally from Vancouver, BC. Will be visiting there in less than two weeks.
🙂
May 30, 2014 at 11:47 am
Hi, thank you for the comments and likes. Always nice to meet a fellow world traveller. Where did you live in Asia? I lived in Argentina briefly but only made it to Rio’s airport sadly. Enjoy your visit home! I’m on the island myself. Cheers!

I lived in Hong Kong, yet during my almost year long stint there, I traveled to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and mainland China. This was in 2000. Then in 2008, my hubby, son and I lived in Jaipur, India for 3 months. Hubby was doing a frontier media course. I lived in Argentina briefly as well in Buenos Aires. Only 3 months, and it was for a course as well. Thanks for the wishes.
🙂

OMG I lived in Hong Kong in 2000 as well and travelled to Nepal that year with an AWA group. You weren’t with that tour by some chance?
June 2, 2014 at 11:30 am
Oh Wow. No, I’ve never been with AWA. I was, and still am today, with YWAM (Youth With A Mission).
🙂

Hi Chiarina! Thanks for finding my blog so that I could find yours! So many beautiful images — like the commenter earlier, I need to take some time and settle down with a cup of tea (not coffee) and relax into your posts. And I will — looking forward to it!

Fantastic, I look forward to seeing your post. I won’t be in town, alas, for the opening of the show; it’s the time of my annual camping trip. But I’ll see it when I get back, and maybe we’ll meet up in the gallery sometime.
