This forest in Portugal has no single owner 🌲 That’s part of what makes our new reforestation project in Verdelhos, Central Portugal, so unique. Together with our local partner GEOTA, we’re helping restore land affected by wildfires by planting 50,000 native trees like sweet chestnut and wild pine. Unlike monocultures such as eucalyptus, these local species are better adapted to recurring fires — while also supporting livelihoods. And because the land is managed collectively, the forest can be restored as one connected landscape — not hundreds of separate pieces. We’ll be sharing more from the project over the coming weeks 💚 Stay tuned!
