The munich creative business week (mcbw) is Germany's largest design event as well as the international showcase for the Bavarian creative and design industry. Organized by bayern design, mcbw serves as a platform for new ideas, trends and creativity, promotes interdisciplinary exchange and makes design a comprehensive experience by bringing together experts, designers, companies and students from disciplines such as design, architecture and business over a period of nine days. The designweek is organized by bayern design GmbH. Sponsors include the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, and the City of Munich. Founding partners include iF International Forum Design GmbH. As mcbw Partners, BMW Group, Steelcase, Ströer and Gmund provide substantial support for the event. bayern design GmbH is the competence center for knowledge transfer and collaborations around the topic of design in Bavaria. With a variety of different projects, it emphasizes the relevance of design and its key role in managing economic and social change towards sustainability.
