A high-growth enterprise (measured in employment) is an enterprise with average annualised growth in number of employees greater than 10 % per annum, over a three-year period (t – 3 to t). and having at least 10 employees in t – 3. It does not include enterprise birth in t – 3.

Growth can be measured also by turnover as well as different growth percentage could be applied, for example, greater than 20 % per annum.
