My research is focuused on how animals change their behaviours in response to environmental changes driven by human activity, such as urbanisation and anthropogenic noise. For my PhD research I studied the impacts of urban noise on vocal communication in great tits (Parus major), canaries (Serinus canaria) and zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata). In addition to this I also studied the behaviour of great tits in urban and rural environments to determine whether urbanisation favours particular behavioural traits such as aggression or boldness.
