Note regarding CPD training hours
The e-modules were developed with a view to using them in a blended-learning approach that combines e-learning with face-to-face teaching. These can be integrated in existing courses or followed on need-basis. It is expected, however, that these additional tools would be complemented with further development of the material, either face-to-face or otherwise.
There is no prespecified time for completion of each module, which varies between students, and therefore the European Commission’s guidance document on the Education & Training Framework does not define training hours for any of its modules.
To support the recognition of the e-learning modules available on the ETPLAS website as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), a working group within the Spanish National Committee for the Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes (CEPAFIC), in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), estimated the median time required to complete modules EU-10, EU-11, EU-12, EU-25, and EU-60. For the additional 17 modules developed under the LAS-Learning project, the median times were based on self-reported estimates from hundreds of module testers.
The following document provides a table with the median time estimated from this sample.
