Iggy Azalea Blasts Azealia Banks for Being a ‘Bigot’ and ‘Bully’
Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea are reigniting their beef. After Azealia put Iggy on blast during her emotional interview with Hot 97, the “Fancy” rapper has fired back.
Azealia trashed her rap rival, who was nominated for four Grammys. “That Iggy Azalea shit is not better than any fu**in’ black girl that’s rapping today,” she told Ebro and Peter Rosenberg. “The Grammys are supposed to be awards for artistic excellence… Iggy Azalea’s not excellent.”
She broke down in tears while discussing the “culture smudging” of America. “When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is, ‘You’re great. You’re amazing. You can do whatever you put your mind to.’ And it says to black kids, ‘You don’t have shit. You don’t own shit, not even the shit you created yourself.’ And it makes me upset.”
After the interview aired, Iggy shot back at the “212″ rapper, blaming her poor attitude for her downfall. She claims that she lost a record deal because Azealia refused to be signed to the same label as her.

This is why media literacy is so important; take a look at the photo of Azealia Banks which @RapUp decided to use for this blog entry. Is there anything you notice? Why didn’t @RapUp upload a nice, sleek photo of Ms. Banks, which they’ve did for Iggy Azealia? The image they are presenting is similar to the tired dialogue that black women are angry, or what Iggy deemed as miserable. @Rapup, this is the first time that Rapper Azealia Banks displayed a more vulnerable side, yet you wish to feed into the image that this black artist is nothing more than bully. I guess she needs the boxing gloves even more to combat one sided media outlets like @RapUp.
Mind you, I am a fan of both artist!
You are not slick.

December 19th, 2014 at 2:05 pm@Lala, what about the beef with Angel Haze? This is not the first time Banks got mixed up in a misdirected mess, and this time is no different.
This is dumb for these artists to attack each other instead of addressing the real issue, namely the powers that be preventing any systemic change from allowing something beyond the predictable train of events to dominate the alleged “prestigious awards” adorned to artists who are undeserving. Not to mention the very merit afforded to the Grammies by artists who should shift their focus elsewhere is a gigantic waste of critical energy. If you’re going to address your concerns regarding the Grammies, do research and address the nomination/ award deliverance issues rather than the artists receiving them. Even Mackelmore tried to distance himself from his win because he had nothing to do with it besides being white with hair gel and rap music.

December 19th, 2014 at 4:55 pm@Lala, You may be right about the photos. However, even if you don’t consider race, it is absolutely clear banks is the bully. Even in her moment of vulnerability, she continues to blame everyone but herself. It’s the grammy’s fault, it’s the white rapper’s fault, it’s pharrell’s fault, it’s T.I.’s fault, it’s my label’s fault, it’s never my fault.
Being vulnerable does not mean you deserve respect. Reflecting on yourself and your own mistakes instead of continuing to critique others is what earns someone respect in my opinion.
Azealia Banks is a ridiculously talented artist. However, instead of trying to earn success by learning from her mistakes and improving herself, she chooses to attack every single successful artist (seriously, who the hell tries to start beef with Pharrell?). The media didn’t choose to randomly start attacking her, she’s continuously giving the media reasons to attack her.

December 19th, 2014 at 1:06 pm@rapup is trying to sensationalize this story in a way that is disappointing and insensetive. I am a FAIR person. I like to evaluate both sides of a story before having a solid opinion & expressing my innate feelings. However, I can’t do that reading @rapup, your site BLATANTLY framing Azealia Banks USING an unflattering photo that doesn’t reflect the message behind this story. You are not BEING objective. IMAGES CONVEYS MESSAGES.
@RapUp is supposedly a hip hop & culture platform that is practicing bias journalism gearing towards an urban/hiphop artists. If you are going to pick a side, then say so without undermining the intelligence of people who are avid readers of this blog!
Learn how to be media literate folks.

December 19th, 2014 at 7:16 pmAzaelia Banks is a nobody. She’s a pathetic, bitter individual who wants to start drama with relevant artists in the industry in order to get her name out there. Maybe she hasn’t succeeded because her music is awful. Woah, who would’ve thought? Azaelia Banks sucks.

Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude.

Azealia returned to Twitter with more incendiary comments and likened Iggy to a minstrel show.
Itchy Areola, you are so stupid and selfish to make any of this about yourself in particular,
