Who We Are

About Us

A small team, a big community, and a love for building things that probably don't need to exist (but are fun anyway).

What is coding.kitty?

coding.kitty is a developer community focused on learning, building, and shipping. We started as a content page sharing dev tips, and grew into a community of thousands of developers from all over the world.

We believe coding should be fun, accessible, and a little bit unhinged sometimes. Whether you're writing your first "Hello World" or architecting distributed systems, there's a place for you here.

What is #hackthekitty?

#hackthekitty is a brand under coding.kitty that runs developer and tech events. Think hackathons, CTFs, coding challenges, workshops, and whatever else we can come up with that gets people building and learning together.

This particular event is our flagship hackathon: two weeks to build something cool, learn new things, and maybe win some prizes along the way. It's open to everyone regardless of skill level, completely free, and judged anonymously by industry professionals.

What We Care About

Inclusivity

Every skill level, every background. If you can open a code editor, you're qualified.

Learning over winning

Prizes are nice, but the real point is to try something new, break things, and learn from it.

Community first

We're not a corporation. We're a group of devs who like building things together. Everything we do is for the community.

Fully Remote, Fully Global

Everything happens online. Our community spans every timezone, and the hackathon is no different. Build from your bedroom, a coffee shop, or that one coworking space with dodgy wifi. We don't judge (well, the judges do, but not about your location).
