Template:Comets

Template documentation

Usage

Template {{Comets}}, in its autocollapsed state, should always be added if an article is about a single cometary object. It should be placed between the external links and categories. For numbered comets the template comes before {{PeriodicComets Navigator}}. Using this template automatically adds the page to Category:Cometary object articles. (Use the template with |nonobject=yes for articles that are not about a single cometary object; to exclude it from auto-categorization.)

This template's initial visibility currently defaults to autocollapse, meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.

To change this template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:

  • {{Comets|state=collapsed}} will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.
  • {{Comets|state=expanded}} will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.
  • Note: The "Lists" section will display in a collapsed state by default. Use {{Comets|Lists}} to open the "Lists" section. This may also be used in conjunction with the state = named parameter, as described above.
