#3 – #TMSandl
Presenting details of 100 Word Challenge is taking up quite a lot of time. However, I have found that I just can’t be in two places at once so when I am invited to go but can’t physically get there, I send a virtual presentation.
Now for the purpose of these challenges, that does not make very good reading at all! So, I have saved a few tweets from the Teachmeet held at Hereford College to give you a flavour of what the audience thought!
@theheadsoffice #100wc very well received. Expect tweets. #thanks #TMSandL— Matthew Ferriday (@ferridaym) February 7, 2013
@theheadsoffice a round of applause and you weren’t even here! Well done! #TMSandL— Portal Training

Really liked their theme of ‘Standby and Learn’. Teachmeets are great events to learn from peers as well as do some networking and chill out!

#2 – #TMCarterton
I was able to attend this Teachmeet which was held at Carterton College in Oxfordshire. It was the first time the school had held such an event and it was a great success! A teachmeet is just like it says on the tin – teachers meeting together to share ideas!
Anywhere you get a chocolate as you sign in is going to be a great evening!
Just waiting for the rest to arrive. There were around 50 people present which is a great number for this sort of event. There were a variety of presentations from Bamboo Paper, GCSE Pod and of course 100 Word Challenge.

#1 BETT 2013
These posts are going to be quite strange as some of the presentations will be virtual via a power point but we’ll see how we get on.
This first one was ‘real’ and was for the BETT exhibition at Excel. The exhibition had been moved out to the docklands which meant a trip on the Docklands Light Railway. That in itself was an experience to see just how much regeneration has gone on in recent years. It was even more remarkable when I thought about the fact that a favourite BBC programme of mine is ‘Call the Midwife’ set in the late 1950’s in the area we passed on the train. It was like another world!
My presentations were on the stand exhibiting Crick software. This is a company with an excellent reputation for supporting children who find the whole writing business just too much.Over the years, they have provided more and more support for class teachers and it is now not restricted to those children with learning difficulties but provides excellent scaffolding for all when writing.
They have recently launched two apps for the ipad and it was very clear that they would be excellent for the children doing 100 Word Challenge or 5 Sentence Challenge.
