J. R. Frontera lives in rural Missouri with her husband, son, and a random assortment of four-legged friends. She has been telling stories in some form or another since she could hold a crayon and draw.
Her proficiency for the English language (as well as proper grammar and punctuation) was recognized by teachers throughout her schooling, and family and friends have long come to her for the proofreading of various projects. She began blogging before blogging was a word, jumped into the world of online fanfiction in 2003, and for a brief, glorious few months, wrote review articles on Burn Notice and Stargate: SG-1 for F.A.D.P.O.V. (From a Different Point of View – a website dedicated to female fans of science fiction, fantasy, and high-action fandoms) before it was discontinued.
After a brief stint as a Research Assistant at KUMC and co-authoring three scientific research papers on diabetes, she currently works at a small but successful medical software development company while noveling, freelance editing, and fandom-jewelry-making whenever she can find a free moment. She classifies her writing as “speculative fiction with a side of love story”, and sometimes dabbles in poetry. You can also find her writing weekly for Doctor Who Watch.
Her serious commitment to becoming a published author began in October 2012. Since then she has had the pleasure of co-founding a fantastic writing group known as The Wordwraiths, who then matured into their own independent publishing conglomerate: Wordwraith Books LLC.
Congratulations on the site, and welcome! 😀 It’s very exciting to see another aspiring author!
