    Bishop Anselm's famous ontological proof for the existence of God rests on a premise defining God as something than which nothing greater can be conceived. Because this definition of perfection includes infinite imagination, it creates a paradox by imbuing God with the ability to imagine a being greater than his own perfect self. This result renders the premise inherently self-contradictory and therefore untenable. Application of modal logic further supports this conclusion.

Moreover, including belief produces incorrect results and adds nothing to determination of knowledge.     I present a concise modal argument showing that hard determinism is not necessary, thereby establishing the metaphysical possibility of non-deterministic causation. Tyler Burge argues this cannot be so in Origins of Objectivity (Oxford, 2010), for accuracy is a semantical relationship and not, as such, a practical matter.
