Brief Bio

Dr. Christian Bime is a professor of Medicine and chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. He is a fellow of the American Thoracic Society and leads an NIH-funded translational research program focused on the genetic determinants, biomarkers and therapeutic targets of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). His work aims to advance personalized management strategies for ARDS.

Dr. Bime’s outpatient clinical practice centers on advanced airway disorders — including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis. He plays a key role in national and international consortia that develop adaptive clinical trial designs in critical care and asthma.

He earned his medical degree in Cameroon, completed a master of science in Epidemiology at Michigan State University and underwent internal medicine residency training at Wayne State University. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Bime has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications.
