Background
WIPO and UN DESA co-organized a virtual One-Day Intellectual Property Workshop as part of the 2026 Call for Innovations, bringing together innovators working on sustainable development solutions from around the world. The workshop featured expert sessions on IP management, a deWIPO and UN DESA co-organized a virtual One-Day Intellectual Property Workshop as part of the follow-up to the 2026 Call for Innovations for the Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum). It brought together innovators working on sustainable development solutions from around the world who are featured in the STI Solutions Book.
The workshop featured expertsessions on IP management, a demonstration of the WIPO IP Diagnostic Tool, and a presentation on the WIPO GREEN database all of which were presented as tools to help support innovators in scaling up their SDG oriented solutions. Participants engaged in a Q&A session addressing challenges related to manufacturing partnerships, social media content creation, and IP enforcement. The innovators have been invited to engage in follow-up steps with WIPO including , including the completion of the WIPO IP diagnostics tool and preparation for mentoring sessions scheduled for the following week.
