    Hyper

    Hyper

    Hyper.is

Hyper is an Electron-based terminal, built on HTML/CSS/JS, and fully extensible. Install themes and plugins from the command line. The goal of the project is to create a beautiful and extensible experience for command-line interface users, built on open web standards. In the beginning, our focus will be primarily on speed, stability, and the development of the correct API for extension authors. In the future, we anticipate the community will come up with innovative additions to enhance what could be the simplest, most powerful, and well-tested interface for productivity. Extensions are available on npm. All command keys can be changed. Extensions are universal Node.js modules loaded by both Electron and the renderer process. Instead of exposing a custom API method or parameter for every possible customization point, we allow you to intercept and compose every bit of functionality! You can find additional details about plugin development in the Hyper repository.

    Cygwin

    Cygwin

    Cygwin

Get that Linux feeling on Windows. Cygwin is a large collection of GNU and open-source tools that provide functionality similar to a Linux distribution on Windows. And a DLL (cygwin1.dll) that provides substantial POSIX API functionality. Cygwin is not a way to run native Linux apps on Windows. You must rebuild your application from the source if you want it to run on Windows. It can't magically make native Windows apps aware of UNIX® functionality like signals, ptys, etc. Again, you need to build your apps from source if you want to take advantage of Cygwin functionality. The Cygwin DLL currently works with all recent, commercially released x86_64 versions of Windows, starting with Windows Vista. Use the setup program to perform a fresh install or to update an existing installation. Keep in mind that individual packages in the distribution are updated separately from the DLL so the Cygwin DLL version is not useful as a general Cygwin distribution release number.
