
Telkom 2 [OSC]
PT Telkom, Jakarta, Indonesia, has awarded Orbital Sciences a contract for a telecommunications satellite, Telkom 2, to be launched in late 2004. The satellite will be positioned in geostationary orbit at 118�E, replacing Palapa B4. The US$73 million satellite will be based on Orbital's Star-2 platform, carrying 24 C-band transponders and designed for a 15-year in-orbit life.
