Strengthening the Field Fund
Promoting the growth of the System Dynamics field
ABOUT
The Strengthening the Field Fund (StFF) allocates funding for activities that promote the growth of the System Dynamics field. Funding comes from the System Dynamics Society and gifts to the Society.
Goals
- Increase membership of the System Dynamics Society
- Develop and maintain members’ capabilities in System Dynamics
- Enable knowledge sharing and dissemination on System Dynamics topics
- Facilitate community building and collaboration among SDS members
- Support interest and enthusiasm around System Dynamics topics
- Make it easier for SDS members to learn and share experiences
- Facilitate SDS Chapter and SIG activities
- Improve linkages to other professional or academic societies
Budget
The budget changes each year, but tends to be between $10,000 and $20,000. The 2026 budget is $20,000. The committee is not likely to use it’s entire budget on one project.
Applications
Applications are accepted all year long. A proposed activity should be for a period of no more than 12 months. Multi-year activities require separate applications for each year. Examples of projects that may be funded (not limited to) are: materials and training in advanced System Dynamics, competition awards and sponsorships, activities that strengthen the relationship to other related organizations.
