Some of the most meaningful work in healthcare doesn't look like healthcare. Our partnership with the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute focused on expanding the pediatric ICU ward, because the number of beds there determined how many children could receive heart surgery. Since the expansion, surgical capacity has risen from 15 to 35, more than doubling the number of children who can be treated. Thank you to the JKCI team for trusting us with this, and for the work you do every day. #Partnership #PamojaTunaweza #PediatricHealth #Tanzania

  • Driving financial inclusion through collaboration. 🤝 M-Pesa continues to play a key role in advancing Tanzania’s digital financial ecosystem, connecting people to accessible, convenient and inclusive financial services. Together, we are building a more financially connected Tanzania one innovation, one connection and one opportunity at a time. #VodacomTanzania #MPesa #FinancialInclusion #DigitalFinancialServices #ZaidiYaMtandao

  • Innovation Week Tanzania 2026 is done. Five days. More than 59 sessions. Over 9,000 participants. The week opened with Minister of State, Presidents Office Investment and Planning, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, and with a question from our External Affairs Director, Zuweina Farah that framed everything after it: ambition inspires, but delivery is what people can actually hold. The days that followed answered it. 2,000+ young Tanzanians turned the Youth Townhall into a real conversation about Dira 2050 with Minister of Youth and Development, not a briefing on it. Nguvu Kamando, our Vodacom Business Director, sat with female founders and SMEs alongside Her Initiative Digital Enterprise. We shared our ESG journey, including the parts that are hard, where our Network Director Andrew Lupembe unpacked emissions and our work in reducing emissions. And welcomed Bridge for Billions as our VDA Season 5 implementation partner. We closed the week with our annual cyber security summit, because a digital economy runs on trust. To everyone who showed up, thank you. The work continues. #InnovationWeekTZ #Dira2050 #TogetherWeCan

  • For a growing number of young Tanzanians, a phone and an idea are already a livelihood. That was the thread running through #Day2 of Innovation Week Tanzania 2026. Our Head of Brand and Communication, Yvonne Maruma shared with fellow leaders across media and digital spaces, on how creators, platforms, and storytelling are shaping the country's next chapter. We see connectivity as more than a network. It's what turns a creator into a business, an audience into a market, and a story into a job. As we look towards #Dira2050, the stories we tell and the platforms we tell them on will decide how many people get to take part. Being connected is only the beginning. What that connection makes possible is what matters. We are still at JNICC, more sessions can be found on: https://lnkd.in/d2MS9kCi #MoreThanANetwork #PamojaTunaweza #Dira2050

  • Twelve years of supporting this convening has taught us something simple, that progress happens in the conversations people are willing to have together. Our role has never been to lead it, it has been to help make the room possible. Yesterday, Innovation Week Tanzania 2026 opened. And this year we convene alongside the National Planning Commission, Ministry of Investment and Planning Tanzania, Funguo Tanzania, COSTECH, UNDP Tanzania and UNICEF Tanzania. Not to restate the ambition of Dira 2050, but to co-create the path that delivers it. Partnership isn't a closing slide. It's the method. A full week, with key stakeholders, more than 59 side sessions, and over 6,000 participants. One shared question: what must be true for Dira 2050 to become real? We look forward to the week ahead, and to the ideas that leave this room and go on to build something. #InnovationWeekTZ #Dira2050 #TogetherWeCan

  • Yesterday, our Chief Executive Officer, Philip BESIIMIRE, joined our shareholders at Vodacom Tanzania’s Tenth Annual General Meeting, reflecting on a decade shaped by long-term thinking, disciplined investment and trust. That trust has helped build a business that continues to grow while investing for the future. In FY2026, our customer base reached 27.7million, network investment increased by 85.1%, extending connectivity and strengthening the foundations for the years ahead, and shareholders approved a total dividend of TZS 53.5 billion, up 18.4%. Read more about our FY2026 performance and the outcomes of our Tenth AGM here: https://lnkd.in/eGp9skeR For Philip, sustainable growth is ultimately about stewardship, shareholders willing to take the long view, a Board that continues to demand rigour and accountability, and our people who turn strategy into progress every day. Ten AGMs later, we remain grateful for the trust placed in us, and focused on earning it, year after year. #MoreThanANetwork #VodacomTanzania #AGM2026 #TogetherWeCan

  • A decade ago, our shareholders backed a long-term plan. Yesterday, at our Tenth Annual General Meeting, they saw what it built. Our shareholders approved a total FY2026 dividend of TZS53.6 billion, up 18.4%. 🇹🇿 But the dividend is only part of what was tabled. Service revenue crossed TZS1.8 trillion. Our customer base reached 27.7 million. And we raised network investment by 85.1%, because returns that last have to be built before they can be paid. At the heart of this growth story is trust. The trust of our shareholders to take the long view, the stewardship of our management team, and the commitment of our people who turn that ambition into progress every day. We are grateful for that trust. And conscious of the responsibility that comes with it, to keep investing, keep serving, and keep building a business that creates lasting value for our shareholders, our customers and Tanzania. In Tanzania, saving together is more than a financial habit – it is a system built on trust🤝. For generations, community savings groups have helped people support one another, plan ahead, and build resilience. Through M-Koba, Vodacom Tanzania is helping bring that trusted model into the digital economy by making savings safer, more transparent, and more accessible. In FY2026, M-Koba reached 299,420 active groups, with total savings growing by 81% to TZS1.4 trillion. Most members are women, reinforcing the platform’s role in expanding financial confidence, independence, and opportunity in communities across Tanzania. But M-Koba is part of a bigger picture. Through M-Pesa, Vodacom Tanzania is helping more people participate in the formal economy, from everyday payments and savings to investment and cross-border transactions: ▪️611,487 Lipa na M-Pesa merchants enabled digital payments; ▪️5.5 million customers used Lipa and M-Pesa each month; ▪️TZS1.4 trillion in cross-border network transactions were processed from M-Pesa wallets; and ▪️14.1 million financial-inclusion customers were reached in FY2026. This is what financial inclusion looks like in practice, providing technology built around how people already live, save, and support each other, helping communities turn connection into greater security, agency, and progress.
