multinational corporation that is heavily involved in privatization and public-private partnerships in sectors such as schools.

Accenture plc is a multinational corporation that is one of the key architects of tracking, monitoring, and surveillance databases for state control. Accenture specialises in advanced biometric databases and predictive policing that has been adopted by governments from India to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom.[1]

Previously incorporated in the USA, then in Bermuda, the company has been incorporated in Ireland since 1 September 2009 for tax avoidance reasons.

history

The firm was founded in 1989 as Andersen Consulting, by partners from a number of Arthur Andersen firms around the world. The company changed its name to Accenture on 1 January 2001, as the result of an arbitrator’s decision in August 2000 that severed the contractual ties between Accenture and Andersen Worldwide Société Coopérative (AWSC). Accenture became a public company when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange on 19 July 2001.

Activities

  • In 2004, Accenture secured a $10B US government contract to build a biometric entry/exit system covering more than 400 air land and sea ports.
  • In 2015, it deployed a global biometric ID management system (BIMS) for the UNHCR, harvesting data from more than 450,000 refugees in Thailand and Chad with an intent to "a global roll-out of the system."[2]
  • As Accenture and other firms tighten their grip worldwide, the only way to avoid biometric surveillance is to stop traveling, experts say.
  • It has invested in Team8, founded by a former commander of Israel's notorious Unit 8200.[6]
  • In 2024, Accenture forged a strategic alliance with US weapons developer L3Harris.[7]
  • Accenture and Palantir have intensified their collaboration. Palantir runs military surveillance and targeting. Accenture aids data-gathering and surveillance of civilians.[8]
  • In 2024 it attended a Palantir-sponsored AI warfare conference.

In 2012 it was revealed Accenture was paying only 3.5% in tax in the Republic of Ireland as opposed to the average rate of 24% for a UK corporation.[9] Accenture has implemented policies to reduce gendered discrimination such as gender neutral bathrooms and gender neutral dress-codes.[10] The business model consists of charging big fees for drastic reorganizations of the target company or public service, that often results in destruction of the original business or service, but where the new structure is privatized or owned by different hands.
