Britoil was formed in 1975 as the nationalised British National Oil Corporation (BNOC), then privatised and acquired by BP in 1988.[1]

UK and Norway found oil/gas in the North Sea.
UK squandered wealth, appeased corporations.
Norway levied 78% tax, took direct stake in companies.
Norway has $1.8 trillion sovereign fund. UK has public purse crisis.
UK Govts still appeasing corporations.[2]
