The Clinton Foundation (founded in 2001 as the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation and renamed in 2013 as the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation) is a nonprofit organization. Its offices are located in New York City and Little Rock, Arkansas.

Concerns

The foundation has been called "Hillary's Achilles heel on the campaign trail for US president."[2] "The Clinton Foundation has raised more than $2 billion since its inception in 1997, and Bill and Hillary Clinton have been paid more than $150 million for delivering speeches. Notably, these payments increased dramatically after Hillary Clinton took office as secretary of state in 2009."[3]

Email leaks

Incorrect Tax returns

In 2015, the foundation admitted errors in four separate years regards the reporting of donations from foreign governments.[5]

Haitian Earthquake

Haitian government official Klaus Eberwein suggested that the Clinton Foundation misappropriated funds donated to Haiti after the earthquake. He was found dead in July 2017, a week before he was due to testify before the Haitian Senate’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission[6] about corruption by the foundation.[7]

Private Equity firm management

As of 2015, the Clinton Foundation was operating a $20 million private equity firm in Colombia, raising concerns from government and consumer watchdog groups who say the practice is unusual and could pose a significant conflict of interest. [8]

2016 hack

Reuters reported in August 2016 that the Clinton Foundation had been hacked.[9]
