Gina Haspel is the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency whom CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou termed the “godmother of the torture program.”

David Petraeus at KKR invited Haspel to the 2018 Bilderberg meeting. While not mentioned in the list of participants, it is not known whether she attended incognito. "Greetings, Director/Gina, and congrats! You are admirably prepared for your wonderful new endeavor - as I observed in a piece in the Cypher Brief this morning - and I know you will do a great job at the helm of the Agency. If there is ever anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask.
I write to encourage you to see if you can join the extraordinary folks who will be at this year's Bilderberg meeting in Turin (you received the formal invitation, also attached, earlier this morning). I have attended each of the past five years and cannot commend it too highly to you. The attendees are uniquely high quality (Henry Kissinger, Eric Schmidt, Henry Kravis, PM Rutte, the German Def Minister, John Sawers, etc., etc.) and the meeting discussions are strictly off the record. You would likely be asked to do a "conversation" (vice a speech), and I think that would provide an extraordinary opportunity to engage with some of the western world's true "influencers." It would be great if you could attend the entire gathering, but I'm sure folks would accommodate whatever time you could spend with the group.... Should you or your team have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. (I should note that Mike Pompeo had planned to attend, but had to change his plans when he moved to Foggy Bottom.) "By late 2002, Haspel was overseeing waterboarding at a black site detention center in Thailand, one of a number of countries exposed in a 2005 Washington Post report as territories being used for torture by the US to dodge judicial oversight."

Torture

After Gina Haspel was nominated to lead the CIA, Quartz magazine quoted a New York Times report that Haspel "played a leading role in running a US torture site abroad and later destroyed the evidence of it."

ProPublica reported in 2017 that Haspel personally signed "cables to CIA headquarters that detailed Zubayda’s interrogation."

Lobotomising Assange

In May 2019, as allegations surfaced that Julian Assange was being chemically lobotomised in Belmarsh Prison prior to his extradition to the United States to stand trial on bogus computer hacking charges, Haspel was nicknamed 'Chemical Gina'.
