Isabel Gonçalves Folhadela Furtado is a Portuguese businesswoman and heiress to the TMG Group.[1]
Background
She is the granddaughter of Manuel Gonçalves, the founder of Têxtil Manuel Gonçalves (TMG), which later expanded into other manufacturing, especially car parts.
In 1975, after the Carnation Revolution, her mother, Maria Helena Gonçalves decided that, given the high political temperature in the country, the best thing to do was to take her five youngest children across the Atlantic, and stayed three years in Toronto, Canada.
Her family is one of the richest in Portugal.[2]
Education
Isabel continued her studies in England, first in Kent, then took a degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, specializing in textile technology.[3]
Career
She has been with TMG since 1985. She came to the board in 2005 to become CEO three years later.[4]
