Madagascar is an island country in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa.
Covid
During "Covid", President Andry Rajoelina introduced a herbal (artemisia-based) remedy, COVID‑Organics[1], and rejected Western pharmacology. In 2021 an attempted coup led by Paul Rafanoharana Maillot, a 62-year-old former French-Malagasy gendarme[2], destabilized the government. Under global pressure Rajoelina signed new agreements and by May 2021 had started "vaccinating".[3]
2025 regime change
On 12 October 2025 an elite unit of the Madagascar Armed Forces overthrew the government of President Andry Rajoelina[4] , following a wave of protests in what has the hallmarks of a CIA color revolution[5][6]. In return for exile in France, Rajoelina pardoned Paul Rafanoharana Maillot ands seven other detainees, including Philippe François, a French national.[2]
