The Alphen Group
The Alphen Group described itself as "an informal network of leading strategic thinkers who have come together to consider the future of the transatlantic relationship and European security and defence and do something about it."

Membership
The group is reportedly chaired by Julian Lindley-French (formerly of the Institute for Statecraft). It contains several confirmed or suspected deep state operatives, including two from the IfS[2]. Mostly male, the members are overwhelmingly drawn from Canada/US and Western Europe, with a few from aligned Eastern European nations.[3]
