A delegation of four Members of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) visited La Réunion from 26 to 28 May 2026.
The mission addressed to labour market inclusion of vulnerable persons, including through education, training and awareness raising campaigns, as well as working conditions in high-risk occupations.
In view of Youth Guarantee Implementation Report this fact-finding mission enabled the Rapporteur to meet with various stakeholders, such as the National Youth Guarantee Coordinator, Greek social partners, Youth Guarantee providers, particularly public employment services, and certain innovative projects related to youth employment.
The purpose of this mission was to two-fold. The first part entailed EMPL’s regular agency visit to the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), focussing on the agency cooperation with the EMPL Committee as well as to exchange on several topical issues such as job quality, AI at the workplace, new ways of working, health and safety at work – psychosocial risks, and impact of extreme weather conditions.
The purpose of this mission was to promote social inclusion and combat child poverty, by visiting some of Bulgaria's remaining children's institutions and experience the country's commitment to fully complete the deinstitutionalisation process, reiterating the urgency of transitioning all children, including those with disabilities, to family or community-based care.
The purpose of this mission was to contribute to the high-level debate and conclusions of the Summit related to advance social development globally and provide renewed momentum for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals as well as to send a clear political signal in support of multilateralism.
The main objective of this mission was to look at the social and labour market situation in Cyprus, the implementation of EU law in the area of employment and social affairs and the use of relevant EU funding instruments by this Member State.
This mission to the EU Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) covered the areas of occupational safety and health, such as mental health and psychosocial risks, the impact of climate change on workers’ health and safety and challenges and risks linked to the use of artificial intelligence at the workplace.
The main objective of this mission was to explore how the Ruhr area, historically known for its coal and steel industries, has undergone a major transformation into a green economy hub and is managing transition to renewable energy and green jobs, also supporting workers in high-carbon industries.
The main objective of this mission was to look at topics, such as the social and labour market situation in Denmark, the implementation of EU law in the area of employment and social affairs and the use of relevant EU funding instruments by this Member State.
The EMPL Members visited the European Training Foundation (ETF), one of the decentralized EU agencies under the competence of EMPL Committee.
In the mission of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs to Poland, from 27 to 29 October 2024, the participants met with the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, representatives of the relevant committees of the national parliament and social partners.
