Meghallgatások
A bizottságok szakértői meghallgatásokat szervezhetnek, ha ez szükséges egy adott témával kapcsolatos munkájukhoz. Két vagy több bizottság tarthat közös meghallgatásokat is. A legtöbb bizottság rendszeresen szervez meghallgatásokat, mivel ezek lehetővé teszik a szakértők meghallgatását és eszmecsere folytatását a legfontosabb kérdésekről. On Thursday, 11 December 2025, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will organise a public hearing on "Illegal Settlements in the West Bank". On Monday, 22 September 2025 in room Spaak 3C50 (16:00-17:30), the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will hold a public hearing on promoting an EU feminist foreign policy. This hearing brings together Margot Wallström, who launched the world's first feminist foreign policy in 2014 when she was Foreign Minister of Sweden, and Aude Maio-Coliche, the EU Ambassador for Equality, to discuss how an EU feminist foreign policy could take shape and what the EU is currently doing in this field.
On Tuesday, 15 July 2025, from 11:00 to 12:30 in Brussels (room Antall 2Q2), the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will hold a public hearing on the implications of the decisions of the ICJ and ICC on the EU's role in supporting a peaceful solution for the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. This hearing intends to clarify the overall situation and to provide both legal and political insights in the search for constructive EU positions on the matter.
On Monday, 23 June 2025, from 17:00 to 18:30 in Brussels (room Antall 6Q2), the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will hold a public hearing on the Geopolitical Aspects of the EU-Mercosur Agreement. The hearing will bring together leading experts to assess the broader geopolitical implications of the agreement. Discussions will cover its strategic relevance for the EU, its impact on Latin American regional dynamics, and its role in strengthening multilateral alliances.
On 13 May 2025, the Committee on Foreign Affairs held a public hearing on the political relations between the European Union and the United States of America. AFET Members had the possibility to discuss with a panel of three distinguished experts on transatlantic relations about the state of relations and prospects for future developments.
On 8 April 2025, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on International Trade held a joint public hearing on the implementation of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement in force since 1 May 2021. The Commission presented its annual reports of 2024 and 2025 on the implementation and application of the Agreement and Members had the possibility to discuss with a panel of four expert speakers the implementation of arrangements and prospects for future developments.
