Next FISC Subcommittee meeting
The next FISC meeting will take place on Tuesday, 27 January, from 15.00 to 17.30, and will include:
- a public hearing on "Tackling tax obstacles in the Single Market";
- a presentation of the European Parliamentary Research Service study "The Cost of non-Europe: The future of EU tax policy harmonisation".

On 9 February 2026, from 21:00 to 22:00, ECON committee and FISC subcommittee will host Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra for a Structured dialogue on 2026 Commission Work Programme taxation files, including proposed withdrawals
On 16 and 17 March 2026, the European Parliament and the European Commission will co-host the fourth edition of the EU Tax Symposium in the Autworld (Parc du Cinquantenaire) and the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels, with the participation of National Parliaments.
On 27 January, from 16:30 to 17:30, the study on the future of EU tax policy harmonisation will be presented in the FISC Subcommittee meeting. The purpose of the study is to analyse how fragmented tax rules in the EU could create economic and administrative costs, i.e. the cost of non-Europe, in taxation.
On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, from 15:00 to 16:30, the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC) will organise a public hearing on “Tackling tax obstacles in the Single Market”. Experts will present their views and discuss with FISC Members how to address remaining tax-related obstacles and distortions in the Single Market.
