The workshop on Transport Security Challenges in the Baltic Sea Region, in particular GPS jamming, and shadow fleet floating will take place on Wednesday 24 September during the TRAN Committee meeting.

The workshop will present the maritime security challenges in the Baltic Sea Region, in particular considering the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and related sanctions on petroleum products as well as the current state-of-play; present case-studies from Baltic Sea countries to assess how current rules are interpreted and enforced to tackle maritime security and safety challenges; examine which measures have to be taken to improve the ability of Member States and the EU to tackle transport security challenges and deceptive techniques such as GPS jamming and shadow fleet floating.
