Interparliamentary meeting EU-Bolivia - La Paz, 21 July 2026
An Interparliamentary Meeting (IPM) between the European Parliament and the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia took place on 21st July 2026.
During the meeting, the European Parliament delegation--led by Chair Robert Biedroń, alongside MEPs Marc Angel and Sebastian Kruis--held exchanges with the President of the Chamber of Senators, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, and members of both houses. Discussions focused on Bolivia's current political and economic situation, EU-Bolivia bilateral relations, and respect for the Rule of Law, among other key topics.
In the margins of the IPM, the MEPs met with Fernando Aramayo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, as well as representatives of civil society organizations. The delegation also visited an EU-funded project, the "Programa de Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible - ProUrbano" in El Alto, where they engaged directly with local stakeholders.
The mission aimed to strengthen political ties between the European Union and Bolivia and to promote closer cooperation on shared priorities.
The European Parliament hosted the first-ever Andean Day exhibition, showcasing the diversity and heritage of the Andean Community: panoramic landscapes traditional costumes, symbolic cultural elements.
On the sidelines of the meetings of the EuroLat Committees (Euro-Latin American Assembly), the Chair of the Delegation for relations with the countries of the Andean Community (DAND) had the opportunity to hold bilateral talks with a delegation of members of the Andean Parliament.

In order to facilitate a swift start into the new legislative term, the Parliament has prepared for the new Members a series of brochures providing a detailed information on the EP's role in the external policies of the EU as well as the work of standing inter-parliamentary standing delegations.
