30th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee

A mission of the EP's delegation to the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee took place in Chile from 13 to 15 July 2026.

The Meps met representatives of the Executive, among whom the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Francisco Pérez MacKenna, & Ms Paula Estevez, International Economic Relations Undersecretary, and Alvaro Gonzalez, Mining Undersecretary.

On 14 July, the 30th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee was held in Valparaíso and included debates on the following topics:

- Political, economic and social situation in the European Union and Chile;
- Implementation of the Advanced Framework Agreement EU-Chile and the Interim Trade Agreement.

Finally, meetings were held with representatives of the private sector, trade unions and civil society (in the field of education and environment).

The 29th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 9 July 2025 in Strasbourg.
The main topics discussed were:

- Practical effects of the entry into force of the EU-Chile Advanced Framework Agreement's political and cooperation pillars;
- Protection of the Paranal Observatory (Chile) within the framework of bilateral cooperation on astronomy research.

28th meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU-Chile, 17-19 March 2025 in Chile

The 28th meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) EU-Chile took place from 17 to 19 March 2025 in Santiago de Chile.

The following topics were discussed:

  • the political, economic and social situation in the European Union and Chile;
  • the Advanced Framework Agreement EU-Chile and the Interim Trade Agreement, with particular reference to its implications on the work of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee
Meetings were also held with the Minister of Energy and Minister for Foreign Affairs, representatives of minority groups, social partners and academia.
