Interparlamentariska möten
EU-Montenegro SAPC on 18 and 19 September 2025 in Podgorica
The European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) held its 24th meeting on 18 and 19 September 2025 under the co-chairmanship of Mr Dejan ĐUROVIĆ (Chair of the Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro) and Mr Thomas WAITZ (Chair of the European Parliament Delegation). The meeting took place in the Montenegrin Parliament in Podgorica.
The agenda included the following items:
· Progress in the Rule of Law area, with a focus on the vetting system and the fight against organised crime and corruption;
· Progress in electoral legislation reform;
· Agriculture, rural development and sustainable tourism
EU-Montenegro SAPC on 2 and 3 April 2025 in Strasbourg
The European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) held its 23rd meeting on 2 and 3 April 2025 under the co-chairmanship of Mr Thomas WAITZ (Chair of the European Parliament Delegation) and Mr Dejan ĐUROVIĆ (Chair of the Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro). The meeting took place in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The agenda included the following items:
- EU-Montenegro relations and the State of play of the accession negotiations
- Montenegro's Reform Agenda, with a focus on rule of law reform, including electoral processes
- Security and cooperation in the Mediterranean
- Sustainable tourism as an economic driver
Members of the SAPC heard interventions by the Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro Maida GORČEVIĆ and by representatives of the Polish Presidency, the European Commission and the External Action Service. They adopted Joint Recommendations on the issues discussed. The next meeting is expected to take in Podgorica in the autumn.
EU-Montenegro SAPC on 31 October and 1 November 2024 in Podgorica
The European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) held its 22nd meeting on 31 October and 1 November 2024 under the co-chairmanship of Mr Dejan ĐUROVIĆ (Chair of the Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro) and Mr Thomas WAITZ (Chair of the European Parliament Delegation). The meeting was held in the Montenegrin Parliament in Podgorica.
The agenda included the following items:
- State of play of the accession negotiations and EU-Montenegro relations;
- Rule of law reform, including judiciary and the fight against organised crime and corruption;
- Economic reforms, sustainable development and green economy.
The SAPC also held an exchange of views with:
- Ms Maida GORČEVIĆ, Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro,
- Mr József NÉGYESI, Ambassador of Hungary to Montenegro, on behalf of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council, and
- Mr Johann SATTLER, Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro.
