In May 2025, the European Commission presented a Single Market Strategy to create a simpler, more seamless, and stronger internal market. Tax obstacles, however, are not explicitly addressed in the strategy, despite the challenges posed by the coexistence of 27 national tax systems in the European Union. In light of that, the public hearing will explore solutions and ways forward to remove tax obstacles within the current legal framework.
