Política linguística
No âmbito da ação para promover a mobilidade e a compreensão entre as culturas, a União Europeia (UE) fez da aprendizagem de línguas uma importante prioridade. A UE entende também que o multilinguismo é um elemento relevante da competitividade da Europa e financia um grande número de programas e projetos neste domínio. Assim, a política linguística da UE tem por objetivo, entre outros, que todos os cidadãos dominem duas línguas além da sua língua materna.

Desporto
A UE assumiu responsabilidades em matéria de desporto ao abrigo do Tratado de Lisboa, que entrou em vigor em dezembro de 2009. Desde então, é responsável por desenvolver políticas baseadas em dados concretos, por promover a cooperação e por gerir iniciativas em prol da atividade física e do desporto em toda a Europa. O financiamento específico para o desporto foi introduzido pela primeira vez no âmbito do primeiro Programa Erasmus+ (2014-2020) e manteve-se nas iterações subsequentes do programa.
Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026: Through the eyes of a child
A special plenary session will take place in Brussels on 27 January, International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Almost all young people in the European Union use the internet daily and are much more likely to participate in social network activities than the total population. In line with the Erasmus+ Regulation for 2021-2027, the European Commission conducted an evaluation covering Erasmus+ actions for the period 2014-2023. The European Commission's interim evaluation of the current (2021 2027) European Solidarity Corps programme affirms the programme's success in fostering youth engagement, social cohesion and solidarity across Europe. The evaluation confirms that the programme effectively promotes inclusion, diversity and democratic participation while strengthening European identity and values.
