Well, at least it liked it more than the Fluke books. I still don’t know why cozy mysteries are seemingly required to: —feel like they were written by kindergarten Sunday school teachers —detail exactly what everyone eats, wears, does for a hobby, etc. ...more

The characters sometimes grated on me, but—unlike most reviewers, apparently—I really liked the writing. It engaged me throughout and I absolutely flew through it.

Very well-researched and -compiled! This book is about 75% anatomy/biology, 25% sociology/history. To be honest, I enjoyed the latter way more than the former—despite my best efforts, I found myself zoning out during the more scientific sections. But ...more

I honestly didn’t like the first two-thirds very much. But! The final third or so was really engaging, creepy, and satisfying! So, frankly, I thought it was worth it!

Another book where the online reviews are mixed to negative. Y’all are nuts. I loved this. Super interesting and well done. Great writing. Excellent character work. Yay book.
