Adel M.A. Mohamed
Adel Mohamed is a metallurgical and materials engineer (B.Sc., 1998) and holds a Ph.D. in metallurgical and materials engineering (2008) from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi, Canada. He has held the rank of professor for the past five years and is actively engaged in research areas related to metallurgy and materials science. He has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University for four consecutive years (2021–2024). With over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, Prof. Mohamed has developed a strong and versatile academic and professional background. He has delivered numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses, participated in various academic and technical committees, and contributed extensively to research and development initiatives, scientific conferences, workshops, and scholarly publications. Prof. Mohamed currently serves as the Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs and as a Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Suez University, Egypt. He is also the manager of the University Ranking Unit. His current research focuses on the development and characterization of reinforced metal matrix composite materials for weight-sensitive applications, as well as nanocomposite coatings for industrial applications. He has led or participated in over 10 externally funded research projects. Prof. Mohamed has published more than 150 research articles in peer-reviewed international and national journals and conferences, holds an h-index of 38, and has authored or co-authored 13 books or book chapters. He has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses both in Egypt and internationally and serves as a reviewer for various scientific journals. With more than 20 years of research experience in the field, Prof. Mohamed remains a key contributor to advancements in metallurgical and materials engineering.
