Wafaa M. Abd El-Rahim
Prof. Wafaa Mohamed Abdel-Rahim has been a Professor of Environmental Microbiology at the National Research Centre (NRC) in Egypt since 2011. She previously served as the Head of the Agricultural Microbiology Department for six years and is currently the Institute of Biological and Agricultural Research dean. She has led numerous national and international research projects, securing funding for 22 projects, including 14 as the principal investigator (PI). Her outstanding scientific contributions have earned her nine prestigious awards, including the State Encouragement Award and two international honors from the Korea Exhibition of Innovation. Prof. Wafaa is an active member of several national committees, such as the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the Microbiology and Soil Committees, and environmental and water councils. She holds three patents from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in Egypt. She has trained many students from various Egyptian universities since 2010. Additionally, she serves as the Chair of the Promotions Committee for Biochemistry and Biological Sciences under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Technology. She has participated in numerous international scientific missions, representing Egypt in global conferences and fostering research collaborations with Arab and foreign countries. Through these engagements, she has strengthened academic and scientific partnerships, contributing to the advancement of environmental microbiology on an international scale.
