Qiang Yan

Qiang Yan, MD, Ph.D., FACS, is a Professor of Surgery and Vice President of Huzhou Central Hospital (Affiliated Huzhou Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine). He is a senior hepato-pancreatic-biliary (HPB) surgeon. Dr. Yan is the academic leader of the Department of General Surgery and the Division of Hepatopancreatic and Biliary Surgery at Huzhou Central Hospital (North Zhejiang Provincial General Surgery Center), and the academic leader of the Huzhou Municipal Clinical Research Center for Malignant Tumors. He is also executive vice president of the Huzhou Anticancer Association. Dr. Yan is also the director of Huzhou Key Laboratory of Intelligent and Digital Precision Surgery and director of the Pilot Training Base for the Surgical Fundamental Skills Enhancement Program of the National Institute of Hospital Administration, vice director of Boron neutron capture cancer treatment technology, and Zhejiang Engineering Research Center. He joined the Department of Surgery in 1997. He became the director of the Division of HPB Surgery in 2009 and chairman of the Department of Surgery in 2015. He undertook special training at the Department of HPB and Minimally Invasive Surgery, Universität Regensburg, Germany, in 2009, and Stanford University, USA, in 2012. He received his Surgical Leadership Program certification from Harvard Medical School, USA, in 2019. Professor Yan became a fellow of the American College of Surgery in 2016 and a special member of the Japan–Germany Society of Study of Liver Surgery in 2018. He is now an active member of the HPB journal, the Gastrointestinal Physicians branch of the World Endoscopy Doctors Association, the Chinese College of Surgeons, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Zhejiang Medical Doctor Association, Surgery, Chinese Medical Association Zhejiang Branch. He is also deputy director of the Zhejiang Invention Association Endoscopic Branch and deputy president of the College of Surgeons. He is an executive guest editor of Anti-Cancer Agents in Medicinal Chemistry and an invited reviewer of medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Frontiers in Oncology.
