Viorica Parvulescu

Viorica Parvulescu is a Senior Romanian Academy Researcher in the Chemistry of Surface and Catalysis Laboratory at the Institute of Physical Chemistry-Ilie Murgulescu. After earning a PhD in Chemistry from the Doctoral School of the Romanian Academy, she held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Namur in Belgium. She was a ten-year Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest. She developed expertise in preparing catalysts. Her research interests are centered on structure-property relationships, the development of new nanocomposite materials (including transitional metals, enzymes, organometallic complexes, and metallic nanoparticles supported on polymers and nanostructured oxides), and organic-inorganic hybrid materials with catalytic, photocatalytic, and electrophotocatalytic properties. She is an author and co-author of over 200 publications and seven chapters in six books.
