Sara Spowart
Sara Spowart, PhD, DMFT, LMFT, MPA, MA, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, professor, and founder of Compassion-Based Happiness and Happiness-Based Mindfulness. She holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of South Florida and master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Happiness Studies. Dr. Spowart specializes in trauma-informed and forensic family therapy, with a focus on healing through compassion, empathy, and mindfulness. She has taught at the University of South Florida, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and New York University. Her work blends clinical practice with happiness-based mindfulness interventions to foster emotional regulation and resilience. A published researcher and international presenter, Dr. Spowart is committed to promoting well-being through culturally responsive, evidence-based, and compassion-centered care.
