Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh is Head of the Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry and Director of ORIC at UCP, with over 25 years of experience in research, teaching, and academic leadership. He is the Chairman of the Technical Committee on Nanotechnology at the PSQCA, Government of Pakistan, and a Member of ISO/TC 229 Nanotechnologies (ISO, Switzerland). He has earned three gold medals in Chemistry and six more, including one from the Minister of HED and the Governor of Punjab, as well as the SATHA Innovation Award 2018 with a Gold Medal. His national and international recognitions include representing Pakistan at UNESCO (Morocco); Young Chemist Award by IUPAC (Italy); Young Scientist Awards by TWAS (Egypt), IAP/GYA (Germany), and the World Economic Forum (China); Young Researcher Award by the Council for Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings; IUPAC 2015 Award for Chemists (South Korea); and the Research Productivity Award (Category A, PCST, Pakistan). He has published over 140 papers, presented more than 150 papers at conferences in 25 countries, won 3 industrial projects and 13 major research grants in nanotechnology, and established the first Nano-Chemistry Laboratory.
