Shahin Aghaei, MD, graduated from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran, in 2004. He was awarded a fellowship of the International Society of Dermatopathology (ISD) from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2008, and a fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery from the Medical University of Graz, Austria, in 2010. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Surgical Dermatology in Singapore and an associate professor of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at the School of Medicine, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He is also a member of the following medical societies: the American Academy of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the International Society of Dermatology, the International Hyperhidrosis Society, and the Iranian Society of Dermatology.

Melanoma remains one of the most aggressive and clinically challenging malignancies, demanding a multidisciplinary and rapidly evolving approach to diagnosis and treatment.
