“Our specialty practices were clamoring, ‘Bring this technology to us,’ and now we’re at over 40 specialties.” —Matthew Kull, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Inova Health What began in primary care expanded to behavioral health, oncology, orthopedics, and more. The reason: clinicians saw immediate value and drove broader access. With Abridge, documentation actually reflects how specialists practice. Inova’s leadership continues to show what it looks like to invest in innovation that scales and is tailored to clinicians' workflows. “When innovation advances both clinical care and nurse education, that’s real system-level impact.” —Colleen Mallozzi MBA, RN, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, Jefferson Health Thank you to Jefferson Health for your leadership. It’s a privilege to be on this journey with you.
Yesterday marked a turning point, a LANDMARK moment in the evolution of nursing practice and clinical care at Jefferson Health We launched ambient nursing documentation, “Nursing Out Loud”! This is more than a technology deployment, it’s a care model shift that’s returning time to nurses, raising the bar in our conversations with patients and families, and strengthening presence, clarity, and connection at the bedside. What surprised me most today? Our Jefferson nursing students on the unit shared that this strengthens their learning experience, making education more meaningful, vocal, focused, and human. When innovation advances both clinical care and nurse education, that’s real system-level impact! Deep gratitude to Kate FitzPatrick,DNP, RN, ACNP, NEA-BC, FAAN, FAONL, Baligh Yehia, MD, MPP, MSc and Luis Taveras for their unwavering support of nurses as innovators, and for creating the conditions for real change, not just adoption. And huge respect to Shiv (Shivdev) Rao , Emily Stanforth, MSN, RN and the Abridge team for being true partners in this work, building technology that understands nursing workflows and helps bring this vision to life. Lastly and most Importantly: all the appreciation for Charlene Eltman, DNP, RN, NI-BC , Amy Taff, MSN, RN, NI-BC, Christine McKeever and Megan Zimmer - they are standard-setting, incredible leaders and the Abington 3WE staff is a cut above!!! 👏👏👏👏 LANDMARK moment. Nurse-led. Nurse-powered. And we’re just getting started!!! #Ambientnursing #TheJeffersonNurse #NursingOutloud #Abridge

One of the most meaningful moments for me this past year was having the opportunity to interview Will Guidara, author of Unreasonable Hospitality, at our Abridge event, The Conversation. Our team has read Will’s book together and he puts words to the type of human and authentic experience we wanted to build around this important work at Abridge. We talk a lot about the privilege we have of taking care of those who take care of us. At the core, what we’re really talking about is people—clinicians showing up for patients in some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and teams across health systems working tirelessly under enormous pressure. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 even though healthcare and hospitality may seem far apart on the surface. Will inspires others to genuinely see people and create moments that make someone feel genuinely cared for and reminds us how rare and special connection truly is. When we design technology for healthcare that gets out of the way, we create space for one of the most important connections of all: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁.

When you bring together people who see the world differently, something special happens. We think that kind of chemistry is required to solve healthcare’s hardest challenges, and it’s why we started The Conversation at Abridge. This work isn’t about technology for its own sake. Its about using AI to bring people closer together, allowing clinicians to be present, listen deeply, and lead with humanity. Here’s a look back at The Conversation 2025 from last November which featured Baratunde Thurston, Daniela Amodei, Daphne Koller, Emily Silverman John McEnroe, Liz Tallett, Spike Jonze, Will Guidara, and others.

The numbers speak for themselves: 🏥 Scale: Over 4.1 million minutes of patient conversations captured. 🏥 Efficiency: 275,000 notes generated since launch, streamlining workflows. 🏥 Provider Wellness: Our care teams are reporting 77% less time spent on "pajama time" charting! That's direct hours back to their lives. This isn't the finish line; it's just the beginning. 90 days. 35,000 notes. Countless hours given back to providers. Three months ago, CommonSpirit Health launched ambient AI scribing for a pilot group of providers — and the impact has been palpable. This technology doesn’t replace providers. It amplifies their time. It elevates their experience. It helps them reconnect with why they chose this calling in the first place. 💬 “Currently at 108 notes scribed! So far, a revolutionary change in efficiency!!” 💬 “This has been a life saver, thank you.” 💬 “I’m going into the weekend celebrating a baby shower. Normally I’d be behind on notes, but this week with ambient AI scribing, all are signed. Super grateful.” This is our WHY. This is Digital Care Transformation in action. This is how we’re building healthcare for tomorrow. #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #AmbientAIScribing #CommonSpiritHealth #CareTransformation #ProviderExperience #AIInHealthcare

At 𝗔𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲, all of the value we're able to create with our partners starts with our people. It's a privilege to welcome, Janie Lee (𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁) to our growing team. Janie is one of those rare product leaders who truly masters both the "Art and Science" of the craft. She has a gift for balancing technical rigor with the deep empathy needed to build for doctors and patients, a skill she honed while scaling iconic companies like 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗺, and 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿. At Abridge, we’ve always focused on bringing together the best people to solve the hardest problems in healthcare. Adding Janie to the team is a huge step forward in our mission to unburden clinicians and get them back to what they do best: caring for patients. Welcome to the team, Janie!
