Clean air is climate action - and one of the smartest investments we can make. Today, on International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, new research from UN Environment Programme and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition makes the case clear: every US$1 invested in tackling climate change and air pollution together could generate up to US$15 in economic benefits. Cleaner air means healthier communities, stronger economies and faster progress towards our climate goals. The solutions are within reach. What is needed now is coordinated action from governments, businesses, investors and cities to turn proven measures into progress at scale. 💬 What is the most important action your organisation - or your city - could take to help deliver cleaner air? The Accountability in a Sustainable World Conference has grown into an important forum for bringing together the worlds of academia and practice – creating space for researchers, investors, policymakers, standard-setters and industry leaders to challenge assumptions, share evidence and shape the sustainability agenda. The 2026 conference, taking place virtually 23–24 September, will continue this journey, with a particular focus on regulation, sustainability reporting, capital allocation, performance metrics and the growing role of AI in accounting for sustainability. Most importantly, it remains a space for open, rigorous and sometimes challenging conversations between academics and practitioners – because progress depends on bringing these perspectives together. We’re proud to continue the journey with the Centre for Accounting Research and Education (CARE) and look forward to welcoming this year’s community online.
